The intersection of 71 and 290 is referred to as the “Y at Oak Hill”. Aviara is located off 71 which also leads to the Hill Country Galleria, the Pedernales River and Lake Travis. Head west on 290 to the quaint town of Dripping Springs or to The Salt Lick for some family style, downhome, lip licking bar-b-que. Without even leaving the Aviara community you can take a dip in the pool and watch the sunset or hit the park and the playground with the kids.
Aviara Schools
Students in Aviara are part if the Austin Independent School District which rated Academically Acceptable on their 2010-2011 Texas Education Agency School Report Card. As of 2012, students will attend Oak Hill Elementary, Small Middle School and Austin High. Austin Community College has a campus nearby on Highway 290 West called the Pinnacle. There are also numerous private schools with 1-5 miles of the Aviara subdivision.
