North Austin includes the area north of the University of Texas campus to Parmer Lane, flanking east of Interstate Highway 35 to northeast Austin and west of MoPac to northwest Austin. North Austin is a mecca for diverse shopping opportunities from upscale to re-sale. The Domain is set in a mixed-use development with stone walkways, interior streets and upscale shops with street access. The Arboretum also offers a high-end shopping experience in an open-air setting and is within walking distance to more traditional shopping, such as HEB, Austin's local grocery store. Austin is one of the best places for dining no matter where you are in town. The Arboretum and the Domain have a plethora of dining from formal to casual. If you like to "go local", try Amy's Ice Cream in the Arboretum for made to order specialties and Chuy's on North Lamar or Highway 183 for some good old fashioned Tex-Mex.
