Buda is conveniently sandwiched between the hustle and bustle of Austin and the tranquil setting of Kyle. Like Kyle, Buda was established along the International-Great Northern Railroad to support the cotton industry. Buda is located along Interstate Highway 35 approximately 15 miles south of Austin and only a few miles north of Kyle in Hays county. While the population continues to grow, Buda has not experienced the population explosion happening in other parts of Hays county.
